Cancellation, Late Cancellation, and Missed Appointment Policy:

We ask that you cancel 48 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time. If you do not show up for your appointment and/or do not cancel 48 hours in advance, you will be charged your full individual or group session fee. This will automatically be billed to your card on file the day of the session. * If Medicaid is your insurance provider, the law prohibits you from being charged a late cancellation or missed appointment fee.

Repeated Missed Appointment and Late Cancellation Policy:

If you have (3) Missed Appointments or Late Cancellations within a (6) month period, the practice will evaluate if we are still the best fit to provide you with your mental health and wellness services. This decision will be made through examining your case record to assess your level of commitment to your treatment process, your growth within your process, and the rationale behind late cancellations or missed appointments. Your clinician will play an active role in making this determination. They will advocate on your behalf if they determine it to be necessary. You have a right to advocate for yourself directly with the practice owner, Alyson Halas, LCSW, and will be heard and considered if you feel that ending your relationship with us is not warranted. This policy applies to all clients regardless of type of payment or insurance provider.

Why do we have this cancellation and missed appointment policy?

We have a cancellation/missed appointment policy for you, for the practice, and for other clients:

For you - It’s incredibly easy to not plan for or prioritize our own mental health and wellness. This policy is meant to encourage you to actively think about, plan around, and commit to your regularly scheduled sessions so that you can receive the full benefit of consistent mental health treatment. With that said, we do take into consideration emergencies and illness. If you start feeling sick or have a sick child in need of your care, give us a heads-up ASAP.

For the practice - As a small business, each and every dollar we take in matters to each and every staff member that provides you with a service here. We rely on a full schedule to keep the practice going and to fairly compensate all who work here.

For other clients - Our schedules are fully booked each week with standing appointments for all clients. At times, clients are in need of a different appointment time or an additional appointment. 48 hour notice gives us the time needed to assess the needs of clients and schedules and offer your appointment time to another client.
